About Vida

Vida is the 'umbrella' or co-ordinating sectoral organization for companies that are involved in activities in the field of vending machines and service-dispensing equipment. Vida reflects the wide diversity of companies to be found in our sector:

• Manufacturers, suppliers, operators and service providers in the field of vending and service machines and equipment
  
• Manufacturers and suppliers of peripheral equipment (such as payment systems, for example)
  
• Producers and suppliers of coffee, tea, soft drinks, snacks, sweets, disposable coffee cups, etc.
  

The market

The Netherlands has more than 300,000 vending machines, making it one of the world's leaders when it comes to vending machine density. These machines provide the consumer with an ever-increasing choice of products.

Vending machines and equipment

When speaking of vending machines, we refer to machines that supply drinks and snacks. Machines, which, after money, a chip card or debit card are inserted, or after a button is pressed, supply comestibles: hot drinks, cold drinks, snacks, sweets, etc. In short, anything their users can consume.

By equipment we mean professional coffee-dispensing and coffee-making equipment such as that used principally in situations where coin-operated machines are not required/institutional and catering situations.

Promoter and protector of members' interests

Vida promotes and protects the common interests of its members. Because of the wide diversity of the developments in the sector, Vida is active on a variety of fronts: from sales statistics to environmental matters, from the provision of information on the introduction of the euro to studies into the possibilities of recycling vending machines and equipment.

The industry's contact point and voice

Vida's membership forms a good cross-section of the sector. All the leading suppliers in the vending machine and dispensing equipment market are members. This makes Vida an important partner in discussions with governmental bodies, societal groups and other relevant organizations.

European collaboration

The existence of the European Union demands intensive international collaboration. The sector is faced with European regulations to an ever-increasing extent. In order to be able to play an adequate proactive and reactive role, Vida is a member of the European Vending Association (EVA). The EVA is a collaborative group of national associations in the field of vending machines. The organization is located in Brussels. It ensures that, in European political matters, the sector's interests are taken care of in a professional manner.
